Aheel Mohammed, Kanishka Govind win AITA Under-14 singles titles

Telangana’s Aheel Mohammed and Tamil Nadu’s Kanishka Govind won the boys’ and girls’ singles titles respectively at the AITA National Series Under-14 tennis tournament in Hyderabad. Kanishka also won the girls’ doubles title with Maharashtra’s Trisha Bhosale

Hyderabad: Aheel Mohammed of Telangana and Kanishka Govind of Tamil Nadu won the boys’ and girls’ singles titles, respectively, in the AITA National Series Under-14 tennis tournament at the Sania Mirza Tennis Academy here on Saturday.

Kanishka completed a ‘double’ by winning the girls’ doubles title, partnering Trisha Bhosale of Maharashtra.

In boys’ doubles, S. Nihal Reddy of Karnataka and Neev Sheth of Maharashtra emerged champions.

Singles: Kanishka Govind (TN) bt G. Aneeshka (TG) 6-0, 6-4.
Doubles: Trisha Bhosale & Kanishka Govind bt Safar Priyal (Kar) & G. Aneeksha (TG) 6-2, 3-6, 10-7.
