Hyderabad: Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation (MMC) will organise a sacred waste material collection drive ‘Project Udvasana’ on August 8 across select temples in three zones—Malkajgiri, Uppal and LB Nagar.
MMC Commissioner, T Vinay Krishna Reddy, said citizens can hand over their old or broken sacred pictures and idols at the identified temples on August 8.
In Malkajgiri Zone, citizens can deposit sacred waste material at Vinayak Nagar, Kalwan Bharati Enclave, Malkajgiri; Sri Saibaba Temple, near Bharat Petrol Bunk, Malkajgiri; Sri Subrahmanya Swamy Temple, West Marredpally; Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple, Kushaiguda; and Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple, Cheriyal, Keesara.
In the Uppal Zone, the sacred waste material collection centres are Malini Karigiri Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple, Padmavathi Colony, Uppal; Mallanna Temple, Boduppal; and Sri Dondlagadda Prasanna Veeranjaneya Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple, Ghatkesar.
In the LB Nagar Zone, collection centres are Karmanghat Hanuman Temple, Karmanghat; Ashtalakshmi Temple, RK Puram; and Mahankali Temple, Nagole, he said.
The Commissioner said volunteers interested in serving in the programme can register online by visiting the official social media accounts of Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation on Instagram, Facebook, and X (@MCMalkajgiri), according to the press release.
