BRS leader Krishank questions delay in saree distribution at Cantonment Workshop

Hyderabad: BRS spokesperson Manne Krishank slammed the Congress government for keeping thousands of Indiramma sarees meant for women undistributed in a godown at the Cantonment Workshop for months.

BRS leaders visited the godown on Friday and demanded that the Cantonment Congress MLA Sri Ganesh and the officials concerned explain the delay. They also wanted the authorities to immediately distribute all the sarees lying in the godown.

Speaking to mediapersons, Krishank alleged that the sarees which were scheduled to be distributed to women’s groups in November 2025, were still lying in the godown and were being left to rats, resulting in wastage of public money. He questioned why the government was keeping the sarees locked up instead of distributing them to the intended beneficiaries.

The BRS leader recalled that the previous BRS government distributed Bathukamma sarees to women ahead of Dasara and Bathukamma festivities. He questioned the Congress government and asked it to explain the delay in distributing the Indiramma sarees despite announcing that one crore sarees were distributed across Telangana.

“Why are Indiramma sarees meant for women still lying in godowns? How many women in the Cantonment have received the sarees so far? How many sarees are still lying in the godown? When will they be distributed?” he questioned.
