Six key members of Pakistan’s federal cabinet have held a joint meeting with Iranian Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Mohammad Atabak at the Iranian Embassy in Islamabad to discuss elevating bilateral cooperation to its highest level.
According to the Iranian administration’s official information portal, the “strategic” meeting focused on outlining a practical roadmap for expanding economic and industrial cooperation.
The Pakistani ministers reaffirmed Islamabad’s determination to deepen comprehensive ties with the Islamic Republic and presented sector-specific proposals aimed at strengthening collaboration.
Expressing appreciation for the unprecedented joint attendance of the Pakistani ministers, Atabak said Iran welcomes all proposals aimed at expanding bilateral cooperation from a long-term strategic perspective.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to work closely with Pakistan to formulate and implement a practical roadmap for these initiatives in the shortest possible time,” he said.
Pakistani ministers reiterated their government’s resolve to strengthen economic relations with Iran to the highest possible level, while Atabak reaffirmed Tehran’s readiness to swiftly translate the proposals into concrete action.
The Pakistani delegation included Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan, Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan, Minister for National Food Security and Research Rana Tanveer Hussain, Minister for Maritime Affairs Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry, Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Ali Pervaiz Malik, and Minister for Investment Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh.
According to the administration’s official information portal, the meeting reflected a new phase in Tehran-Islamabad’s commercial diplomacy, with both sides placing particular emphasis on removing logistical barriers, expanding energy cooperation, and promoting joint investment projects.
