A four-year-old boy is battling for life after his father allegedly attacked him with a stone and repeatedly banged his head against a pillar near the PV Expressway in Hyderabad’s Gudimalkapur. The accused was overpowered by locals and taken into police custody.

Hyderabad: A four-year-old boy was critically injured after his father allegedly attacked him with a stone in Gudimalkapur on Wednesday.
The suspect, identified as Salman, was taken into police custody following the incident.
According to police, Salman, a resident of Golconda, frequently consumed alcohol, leading to repeated disputes with his wife. He allegedly believed that his son, Armaan, was an obstacle in their family issues and planned to kill the child.
On Wednesday morning, Salman reportedly told family members that he was taking Armaan to visit relatives at Aramghar. Instead, he allegedly took the boy near a pillar of the PV Expressway, where he struck the child’s head with a stone before repeatedly banging him against the pillar.
Local residents who witnessed the assault immediately intervened, overpowered Salman, and thrashed him before alerting the police.
The injured child was rushed to a nearby private hospital, where doctors said his condition was critical.
Gudimalkapur police reached the spot, detained the suspect and took up investigation.
