Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao said the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme (KLIS) was once again proving its importance by reviving the SRSP flood canal through reverse pumping and providing irrigation to nearly two lakh acres. He said water was being lifted from the Rampur and Rajeshwararaopet pump houses along the flood canal, providing assured irrigation to farmers.
He said despite the Congress’s alleged propaganda against the Kaleshwaram project, farmers who saw water in their fields knew the reality. The State government commenced using the extensive infrastructure under the Kaleshwaram project following heavy inflows into the Godavari river to lift and supply water to various projects across the State.
