Bhu Bharathi Field Technical Staff staged a protest at Gandhi Bhavan, demanding reinstatement of services, job security and payment of 15 months’ pending salaries. Similar protests were held across Telangana after employees alleged plans to replace them with Junior Assistants.

Hyderabad: Contradicting the Congress government’s claims of providing job security to outsourced employees, Bhu Bharathi Field Technical Staff (FTS) staged a protest at Gandhi Bhavan on Tuesday, demanding the reinstatement of their services and payment of 15 months’ pending salaries.
Holding placards, the protesting employees squatted on the steps of Gandhi Bhavan and raised slogans against the government’s decision. They demanded that the government withdraw its decision to remove 290 staff members and renew the services of all 636 employees, as had been the department’s regular practice.
The employees urged the government to ensure job security and refrain from taking decisions that could affect their livelihoods.
Meanwhile, similar protests were held by Bhu Bharathi operators outside District Collector offices across the State.
The field technical staff and district coordinators, computer operators, have also staged a protest at Nagarkurnool, demanding the government to withdraw its orders of suspending their sercvices.
They claimed that they had been associated with the department since 2018. “Despite our services, the government is removing us from the jobs,” said a field technical staff member.
During a protest outside the Jayashankar Bhupalpally Collectorate on Monday, computer operators said they had been serving in the department for nearly a decade.
They alleged that the government had issued a circular proposing to replace them with Junior Assistants. The employees also claimed that they had not received their salaries for the past 15 months.
