Hyderabad: The Cyberabad Police Commissioner, Dr. M. Ramesh, has placed under suspension a head constable attached to the Raidurgam Police Station for allegedly neglecting an emergency Dial-100 complaint.
The suspended policeman, Head Constable Syed Younus, reportedly failed to respond to an emergency call following a collision between two cars near IKEA in Gachibowli on the night of August 1.
According to Cyberabad Police, the victim called the Dial-100 emergency helpline twice seeking police assistance after the accident. However, Syed Younus, who was the officer in charge of handling the calls, allegedly did not proceed to the scene. Instead, he reportedly closed both complaints, citing “caller nuisance,” without verifying the incident or extending police assistance.
Taking serious note of the lapse, Cyberabad Police Commissioner Dr. M. Ramesh ordered the immediate suspension of the head constable for dereliction of duty.
