Birla Blazers cruised into the semifinals of the Hyderabad District Basketball Championship’s youth boys’ category with a commanding 61-30 victory over Charminar Chargers. Secunderabad Stallions also opened their campaign in style, defeating Golconda Gladiators 70-59

Hyderabad:Birla Blazers scored a comfortable 61-30 win against Charminar Chargers after leading 40-24 at half-time to qualify for the semifinal in the youth boys category of the Hyderabad district basketball championship at YMCA Secunderabad here on Sunday.
From the start, Birla Blazers played a fast-paced game as Krishna and Manas combined well to score 21 points against 15 points scored by Charminar Chargers for whom Joshua was chipping in with baskets are regular intervals.
The Blazers continued the scoring spree in the second quarter as well with Chaitresh and Shaarav scoring through fast breaks thereby leading 40 – 24 at half time.
After a change of ends, Blazers tightened their defence to restrict Chargers to just one point and in turn chipped in with 13 points to lead 53 – 25 at end of third quarter.
In the final quarter also, Blazers continued their scoring spree winning the match easily 61 – 30.
In another match Secunderabad Stallions notched up a hard fought 70 – 59 win over Golconda Gladiators after leading 27-22 at half time to start their campaign on a winning note.
The scores: Birla Blazers 61 (Shaarav 13, Krishna 12, Manas 12, Chaitresh 12) bt Charimnar Chargers 30 (Joshua 7, Alex 6).
Sec’bad Stallions 70 (Amshul 21, Sai 10, Karthik 9) bt Golconda Gladiators 59 (Praneeth 15, Prajwal 15).
