Hyderabad: A 40-year-old man allegedly died by suicide after executives of a finance company seized his motorcycle for non-payment of the first EMI in Jawaharnagar.
According to police, the victim, Sriramulu Sridhar from Yapral, worked as a caretaker. He had recently purchased a motorcycle through finance but was unable to pay the first monthly instalment.
In July, representatives of the finance company allegedly seized the vehicle, following which he had been under severe mental distress.
On Friday, while Sridhar’s wife had gone to a relative’s house, he allegedly died by suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan. She returned in the evening and found him hanging. With the help of neighbours, she checked on him, but he had already died.
Based on a complaint, the Jawaharnagar police registered a case and are investigating.
