Mancherial: Internal bickering came to the fore in the Congress party’s Bellampalli Assembly constituency, with several leaders from Nennal mandal convening a meeting and releasing a video clip expressing their dissent against Bellampalli MLA G Vinod on Saturday.
The leaders were upset that Vinod was giving priority to newly joined leaders. They alleged that he was ignoring senior party leaders while giving importance to new entrants. They warned that they would take a serious decision if he failed to address their concerns. They regretted that their contributions were not being recognised.
The dissenting leaders said the newcomers were over-publicising themselves, while Vinod had failed to leave his mark on development in Nennal. They accused some leaders of misleading the sarpanch into releasing government funds for developmental works. They said such acts were bringing a bad name to the Congress.
They urged Vinod not to trust certain leaders, alleging that some personal assistants and the son-in-law of a leader had joined hands with the new entrants. Meanwhile, Nyathari Swamy, a party leader, has reportedly begun a self-promotion campaign on social media, claiming that he would soon become the MLA from Bellampalli. His campaign has drawn attention amid allegations that Vinod has not remained accessible to the public.
