Three migrant workers were injured after loosened soil collapsed on them during foundation work at a private building in Gachibowli. Rescue teams from police, HYDRAA DRF and CMC rushed to the spot, while officials suspect safety lapses at the site.

Three migrant workers injured after soil collapses at construction site in Gachibowli

Hyderabad: Three migrant workers had a narrow escape when loosened soil fell on them while they were filling cement concrete for the pillar bed works of a private building at TNGO”s Colony in Gachibowli.

The workers were severely injured and shifted to CARE Hospitals, Gachibowli.


The soil loosened following continuous rains over the past couple of days. Eyewitnesses said that while filling the concrete for the building’s foundation level, the loosened soil suddenly collapsed on them. Soon after the incident, two workers came out from the site and one worker was caught in the soil, and other workers rescued him after 10 minutes of struggle.

Police, Hydraa DRF teams and Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) staff reached the spot and took up rescue operations and shifting of the injured workers. Police said preliminary information indicated the incident occurred as the builder did not take safety measures at the site.

The injured workers belong to Madhya Pradesh, and were working for the building pillar concrete work,for the past a few weeks.
