A new Anganwadi building and an integrated toilet complex at a Primary Health Centre were inaugurated under the ITC Mission Sunehra Kal initiative in Kothagudem, strengthening childcare, maternal welfare and rural healthcare infrastructure with support from the WASH Institute.

Kothagudem: A newly constructed Anganwadi building was inaugurated at Odiya Camp in Sarapaka gram panchayat under ITC Mission Sunehra Kal (MSK) initiative.
The project, implemented by Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Institute with the support of ITC Mission Sunehra Kal was built at an estimated cost of Rs 11.50 lakh to strengthen early childhood care and community infrastructure while enhancing facilities for pregnant and lactating mothers.
It was inaugurated by district women and child welfare officer (DWO) Swarnalatha Lenin and Sarapaka sarpanch Shivaram Kishore Naik along with the 8th ward member Uma.
Addressing the gathering, Swarnalatha Lenin appreciated the efforts of ITC Mission Sunehra Kal and the WASH Institute in creating durable community assets and strengthening the well-being of women and children in rural areas.
The CDPO Mangathayaru, ITC PSPD Bhadrachalam unit DGM (HR) Chengal Rao, senior programme manager Jayaprakash Ramasamy, ITC MSK programme executives Geetha and Taraprasad and WASH Institute programme officer GR Balakrishna were present.
Similarly, under ITC MSK an integrated toilet complex was built at Primary Health Centre (PHC), Narasapuram. Bhadrachalam MLA Dr. Tellam Venkat Rao along with the ITDA project officer Rahul Raj inaugurated the facility. Essential medical equipment for the regular functioning of the PHC was also handed over on the occasion.
ITC’s community development programmes have been focusing on education, health and livelihood, aiming to strengthen rural healthcare and educational infrastructure, said the ITC official Chengal Rao.
