Medak: The teachers were forced to declare a holiday for the government school at Eklaspur in Tekmal mandal after part of the school building collapsed on Tuesday. As the outer wall of a classroom collapsed, the 35 students and teachers in the school escaped unhurt. After consulting the District Educational Officer, the teachers declared a holiday for the school. As the district has been witnessing continuous rains for the last three days, the wall, drenched in rainwater, collapsed. However, locals alleged that the quality of the construction was also poor, which resulted in the incident. The parents and teachers heaved a sigh of relief as the students walked out of the school building safely immediately after the wall collapsed.
