70-year-old man remains missing over 40 hours after being swept into Miyapur stormwater drain

Hyderabad:  More than 40 hours after he was swept away in a stormwater drain in Miyapur, a 70-year-old man remains untraced.

On July 28 night, Balaiah, a resident of Prem Nagar in Hafeezpet, fell into an ongoing stormwater drain works site at Vaishali Nagar in Madeenaguda. Search operations launched by multiple teams since that night have failed to trace the victim so far.

Apart from the police, Hydraa DRF teams and the sanitation wing of Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) have also taken up a searching operation and searched in the stormwater drain that flows into Earla Lake in Madeenaguda and later joins Gangaram Pedda Cheruvu. However, their efforts so far have remained futile.
