Adilabad: Police quickly cracked the mystery behind the abduction of a minor girl by tracing her and arresting two women for their alleged involvement in the offence here on Wednesday.
SP Akhil Mahajan said Naitham Gangubai and Gummadiwar Bharathi were arrested for kidnapping the girl from Ruyyadi village on Tuesday. The women reportedly admitted to planning to sell the girl to a human trafficking racket.
Earlier, police formed special teams to trace the girl, who was allegedly picked up by an unidentified woman on Monday afternoon. The teams scanned CCTV footage from different parts of Adilabad town. They managed to trace the girl at Mahalaxmiwada in the town around midnight on Tuesday. Meanwhile, the girl’s parents, Athram Jangu and Kapli Bai, thanked the police for solving the kidnapping case within 12 hours.
