Hyderabad: The Congress high command is learnt to have taken a serious view of the affairs in the Telangana Congress, particularly the growing criticism of the State government, the lack of coordination among Ministers, MLAs and DCC presidents, and rising dissent within the party.

AICC General Secretary KC Venugopal held a meeting with Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, AICC in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan, TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud and a few other senior leaders from the State.

During the nearly two-hour meeting, the AICC discussed several issues, with a special focus on the Congress government completing two-and-a-half years in office in Telangana. Before the meeting, AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge is believed to have spoken to the Telangana leaders.

The high command reportedly discussed the lack of coordination among Ministers and indiscipline among some MLAs. It is also learnt to have expressed concern over individuals pursuing personal agendas instead of the party’s interests.

The Delhi leadership is also believed to have discussed concerns raised by a few MLAs, particularly those from the Dalit community, over inadequate support. The AICC reportedly took a serious view of the growing factionalism within the party and the role of a few leaders in fuelling differences in some district units.

It may be recalled that AICC in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan recently held meetings with DCC presidents and other senior leaders. The AICC also reviewed her observations, including the growing dissatisfaction among loyal party leaders and cadres.

The AICC is scheduled to hold a coordination meeting with Telangana leaders on Wednesday. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is expected to continue his visit to New Delhi on Tuesday, and a few Cabinet Ministers may also be asked to attend the coordination meeting, according to party sources.
