Telangana PSC recruitment exam OMR sheets found on roadside

Hyderabad: The Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC) Hostel Welfare Officers recruitment examination Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) sheets, which are supposed to be kept confidential and destroyed after a certain time, have reportedly been found roadside between pillar No.230 and 240 of PVNR Expressway here on Saturday night. This prompted the Commission to launch a probe into the matter.

The OMR sheets in question pertain to Hostel Welfare Officers Recruitment, 2018, and selections had been completed long ago back. They had been identified for disposal and destruction.

“It appears that a few OMR sheets were found on the roadside. The circumstances leading to this incident are being verified. The Superintendent of Police posted at TGPSC is ordered to inquire into the matter as to how these OMR sheets were found at a public place and furnish a report within 3 days,” the Commission said.

Based on the findings of that inquiry, strict action will be taken against those responsible for any lapse, the TGPSC said.

The OMR answer sheets of any recruitment exam are preserved for three years after completion of the recruitment process, after which they are identified for disposal and sent for shredding as per established procedures.
