Mancherial: Police destroyed 1,000 liters of jaggery wash and 30 liters of illicitly distilled liquor, locally known as Gudumba, during a community contact programme held at Esanvayi village in Jaipur mandal on Saturday.
The programme was jointly conducted by 50 police personnel and 30 staffers from the Excise and Prohibition Department.
Jaipur ACP Ch. Venkateshwarlu, who supervised the drive, said measures were being implemented to control crime in the Jaipur division by closely monitoring the movements of offenders. He stated that the programme aimed to eradicate crime, instill a sense of security, and clamp down on those indulging in unlawful activities.
He added that cases have been registered against nine people for storing the wash and liquor.
Chennur Rural Inspector Krishna, Excise Assistant Superintendent Sriram Reddy, Sub-Inspectors, and staff members from both departments took part in the programme.
