Hundreds of pro-Palestine activists gathered outside the research and manufacturing facility of Israeli arms giant Elbit Systems in Bristol, United Kingdom, on Thursday, calling on the British government to immediately halt all military support and arms exports to the Israeli regime.
The national day of action, organized by the Palestine Solidarity Campaign, saw demonstrators assemble from 11:00 a.m. at the company’s site on Bolingbroke Way in the Filton area of Bristol.
Participants, who traveled from cities including London, Birmingham, Liverpool, Cardiff, and Dorset, waved Palestinian flags and held banners reading “Stop Arming Israel,” while denouncing Elbit’s role in supplying weapons used in the ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people in Gaza and the occupied West Bank.
Elbit Systems, Israel’s largest weapons manufacturer, produces armed drones, missiles, bombs, and artillery shells that the Zionist regime deploys in its brutal military campaigns.
Activists stressed that the British government continues to allow the firm to operate factories and research centers on UK soil and grants export licenses for weapons components destined for the occupation forces, in clear violation of international legal obligations not to aid or assist genocide, occupation, and apartheid.
Protesters demanded a comprehensive arms embargo on the Israeli regime, comprehensive sanctions, and an end to London’s complicity in the crimes committed against Palestinians.
A significant police presence was deployed in the area as the peaceful demonstration underscored the growing public rejection of Western governments’ unwavering military backing for Tel Aviv’s aggressive policies.
The rally forms part of sustained popular resistance across Britain against arms companies enabling the Israeli regime’s atrocities, reflecting widespread international solidarity with the Palestinian cause and mounting pressure on Western capitals to end their support for the occupation.
