The Islamic Republic of Iran Army has warned that it will adopt “new scenarios” if the United States continues its criminal aggression against the Islamic Republic.
Army spokesman Brigadier General Mohammad Akrami-Nia made the remarks in an interview with Defapress news agency published on Thursday, one day after US President Donald Trump escalated his threats against Iran and vowed to target the country’s bridges and power plants.
Akrami-Nia said that the war has entered a new phase following the US violation of a war-termination deal, which prompted the Iranian armed forces to keep conducting retaliatory operations as long as the enemy targets the country’s infrastructure and coastal regions.
“The Americans must understand that this course of action cannot continue indefinitely. If they persist in their acts of mischief against our country’s southern regions, we will take new measures,” he added.
“New scenarios have been developed and preparations have been made, and we will respond in a different manner to prevent the enemy from continuing the war.”
The spokesman also noted that the Army’s Air and Air Defense Forces utilized the ceasefire period to enhance their combat capabilities, stressing that they maintain high morale, motivation, and resolve to confront any enemy aggression.
Regarding the possibility of a ground incursion against Iran, he said, “We do not rule out any action by the enemy or consider any scenario unlikely. For this reason, we have strengthened our preparedness for every possible scenario the enemy may pursue. However, should the enemy launch a ground offensive, its vulnerabilities would be considerably greater in aerial or stand-off attacks.”
For twelve consecutive nights, the US military has conducted waves of deadly aerial assaults on Iran, committing war crimes by targeting civilian sites.
In response, Iranian armed forces have launched heavy reprisal attacks against strategic American targets across West Asia.
The United States and the Israeli regime waged their illegal war of aggression against Iran on February 28. However, forty days later, on April 8, the enemies were forced to accept a ceasefire amid Iran’s brave resistance, successful retaliatory operations, and powerful grip on the Strait of Hormuz.
On June 17, Tehran and Washington signed the Pakistan-brokered Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at ending all hostilities and prepare for further negotiations. However, Washington violated all provisions of the understanding.
