Hyderabad: A 28-year-old migrant worker from Uttar Pradesh was killed and another person suffered critical injuries in a road crash at Puppalaguda Toll Gate in Narsingi on Tuesday night.
According to police, the victim identified as Sushil Kumar was returning home on a motorcycle along with his friend Suresh after finishing work at Hafeezpet when a speeding water tanker allegedly rammed their bike near the toll gate.
Sushil Kumar suffered fatal injuries and died in the accident, while Suresh received severe injuries and was shifted to a nearby hospital, where he is undergoing treatment.
After hitting the motorcycle, the out-of-control water tanker reportedly went on to collide with a car and a scooter, causing further damage.
The Narsingi police are investigating. They are yet to ascertain the exact cause of the accident and whether negligence or over speeding led to the fatal crash.
Authorities are also examining CCTV footage from the toll plaza as part of the probe.
