Telangana CEO asks officials to speed up SIR enumeration digitisation

Hyderabad: Instructing officials to expedite the digitisation of enumeration forms, Telangana Chief Electoral Officer C Sudharshan Reddy on Tuesday directed them to pay special attention to urban areas and Assembly constituencies that showed low progress in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll.

Sudharshan Reddy, along with Additional CEO Dr Vasam Venkateswar Reddy and Deputy CEO GS Chary, held a video conference with the district election officers (DEOs) in the State.

The CEO instructed DEOs to ensure that their districts crossed 90 per cent completion of the enumeration process by the end of this week. He emphasised that “no mapping” electors should be thoroughly verified and appropriate action taken wherever necessary.

Officials were instructed to issue necessary directions to BLOs not to insist on the submission of physical enumeration forms if electors had already submitted them online.

The BLOs should also not insist on Aadhaar cards for the submission of enumeration forms, he said, adding that the BLOs must verify ASD (Absent, Shifted, Dead) cases carefully and maintain accurate records.
