Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) is set to introduce the latest machinery for tree-trimming operations on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) main carriageway, which stretches over 158 kilometres, to maintain greenery.

For maintaining greenery on the ORR, an eight-lane access-controlled expressway connecting major national highways, the airport and growth centres in Hyderabad, the latest machinery is being used for tree-trimming operations to reduce the deployment of workers on the ORR.

Further, necessary steps have been initiated to introduce a sprinkler system on the ORR main carriageway to support the upkeep of green cover along the stretch and ensure regular watering as part of ongoing maintenance efforts, a press release issued by HMDA on Monday said.
