Sangareddy: Members of the Muslim community in Sangareddy organised special prayers to appease the rain god as the district has received deficient rainfall during the southwest monsoon, particularly in July.
As crops have started withering and groundwater is depleting, the community gathered near Mahabub Sagar and offered special prayers on Sunday.
The prayers were organised following a call by religious elder Hafeez Khari Abul Razak in the town. Several religious elders and a large number of people also participated in the special prayers.
