GHMC identifies 11.52 lakh ASD electors in Hyderabad district

The GHMC Election Wing has identified 11.52 lakh electors as absent, shifted or dead during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. Chandrayangutta recorded the highest number of ASD electors, while the final figures will be known after August 3.

GHMC identifies 11.52 lakh ASD electors in Hyderabad district

Hyderabad: As part of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls, the GHMC Election Wing has identified a total of 11,52,613 electors as Absent, Shifted and Dead (ASD).

Chandrayangutta Assembly constituency topped the list with 1,23,591 ASD electors, while Karwan ranked second with 1,02,380 electors. Jubilee Hills Assembly constituency recorded 94,799 ASD electors, followed by Bahadurpura with 88,231 and Yakutpura with 81,715, placing them among the top five Assembly constituencies with the highest number of ASD electors.


District Election Officer and GHMC Commissioner RV Karnan said the total number of electors in the 15 Assembly constituencies of Hyderabad district was 47,36,669, of whom 11,52,613 were identified as absent, shifted or dead. He said this meant that 24.33 per cent of the electors were found missing during the ongoing SIR.

Karnan said instructions had been issued to the Booth Level Officers (BLOs) to revisit the houses of electors found absent and distribute the enumeration forms. He said some electors were likely to be out of station, while others might have gone abroad. He added that the final number of ASD electors would be known after the completion of the SIR on August 3.
