Hyderabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the redeveloped Hitec City Railway Station through a video conference on July 17.
The station has been modernised at a cost of Rs 26 crore under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.
South Central Railway (SCR) officials said the upgraded station features a 12-metre foot overbridge, additional lifts, escalators, improved passenger signage, a revamped façade and a new portico. The redevelopment is aimed at enhancing commuter convenience in the city’s IT corridor.
Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, SCR Chief Public Relations Officer A Sridhar said 40 railway stations in Telangana are being redeveloped under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme at a cost of over Rs 2,000 crore, with the Hitec City station being among the latest to be completed.
