Hyderabad: A 28-year-old fruit vendor from Uttar Pradesh has been arrested for allegedly raping a minor girl in the KPHB.
According to KPHB police, the suspect identified as Rehan, used to sell fruits in front of the minor’s house. Over several months, he allegedly lured the girl, a Class VII student, inside her home by saying there were chocolates and biscuits indoors, then committed the sexual assault and threatened her to remain silent.
The victim, traumatized and frightened by his threats, did not disclose the incident to anyone until recently, when Rehan reportedly began harassing her again.
She finally shared the ordeal to her parents, who immediately filed a complaint at the KPHB police station.
Acting on the complaint, police registered a case under the POCSO Act and arrested Rehan.
