The Hyderabad City Marathon will return on August 29 and 30 with more than 32,000 runners expected across four race categories. The event features a Rs 45 lakh prize purse, an Inclusive Run for persons with disabilities and aims to raise Rs 3 crore for charity.

Hyderabad: The 15th edition of the annual Hyderabad City Marathon, organised by Hyderabad Runners Society in collaboration with NMDC, IDFC First Bank and State government, will be held on August 29 and 30.
Recognised as India’s second-largest marathon and a World Athletics Label Race, the marathon is expected to attract over 32,000 participants for the Full Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K and 5K categories.
“Hyderabad marathon has grown into one of India’s most respected running events because of the collective support of our runners, volunteers, partners and the city,” said Rajesh Vetcha, Race Director, NMDC Hyderabad Marathon.
This year’s edition comes with a total prize purse of Rs 45 lakh and also features an Inclusive Run, organised in association with Adventures Beyond Barriers Foundation (ABBF), featuring 300 participants with disabilities.
Among others, Krishna Kumar Thakur, Director (Personnel), NMDC Ltd, and Shreepad Shende, CMO, IDFC FIRST Bank, unveiled the official Finisher’s Medal and event T-shirt on Wednesday.
Through charities, the Hyderabad marathon is also aiming to raise a total of Rs 3 crore, to be utilised for various altruistic purposes.
