Hyderabad: Doctors at Care Hospitals, Malakpet, treated a 42-year-old housewife diagnosed with a 4.5 cm brain tumour located dangerously close to critical brain structures and major blood vessels.
For two months, the patient was living with a worsening headache on the right side of her head, and a sudden seizure brought her to the hospital. An MRI scan revealed a large brain tumour measuring approximately 4.5 cm X3.5 cm X3.5 cm in the right region of the brain, a press release said.
The neurosurgical team led by senior neurosurgeon Dr Bhavani Prasad Ganji performed a right frontotemporal craniotomy, separating the tumor from the surrounding structures.
The patient spent just a day in the ICU following surgery and was discharged on the fourth day. She is seizure-free, and her headache has completely resolved, the press release added.
