BRAOU gets UGC nod for five new academic programmes

Hyderabad: Dr. BR Ambedkar Open University (BRAOU) in Hyderabad received approval from the University Grants Commission (UGC) to launch five new academic programmes – MA Education, MA Education (School Administration), MSW, MSc Geography and BEd Special Education (renewal).

The UGC expert committee had conducted a virtual inspection in June to assess the university’s academic preparedness, infrastructure, learner support systems, digital resources, and regulatory compliance before approving these programmes.

BRAOU Vice Chancellor Prof. Ghanta Chakrapani said the three education-related programmes would provide opportunities for government and private educational teachers to upgrade their qualifications and enhance their professional competencies in educational leadership, school administration, and educational management.

Prof. Chakrapani said the University proposes to enter into an agreement with the School Education department to train teachers across Telangana in phases, thereby contributing to continuous professional development and improved school leadership.

The university will shortly issue an admission notification for these programmes and admissions will commence in this academic year. For more details, visit the university’s website www.braou.ac.in or www.braouonline.in or contact the help desk at 040 – 23680 333 / 555.
