Sangareddy: Former Minister T Harish Rao questioned the Police department’s inaction against Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, alleging that he had repeatedly made objectionable remarks against opposition leaders.

Addressing a meeting of BRS booth-level agents in Narayankhed on Monday, Harish Rao said the police had registered cases against opposition leaders for making comments against the Congress government and the Chief Minister, but had not registered any case against Revanth despite his objectionable remarks. Referring to former DGP Sivadhar Reddy’s comments that the police maintained a khaki book to record criminal activities, Rao said it appeared that the police were not acting against ruling party leaders.

He said there was little difference between Shabad multiple murder accused Raj Kumar and the Chief Minister. Accusing Congress leaders of using the police for land settlements, he said the police were not acting swiftly enough to arrest criminals such as the Shabad killer. He also accused the Congress government of neglecting the Sangameshwara Lift Irrigation Project (SLIP) and Basaveshwara Lift Irrigation Project (BLIP), which were aimed at providing irrigation water to four lakh acres.

Sangareddy MLA Chintha Prabhakar, Zaheerabad MLA K Manik Rao, former Narayankhed MLA M Bhupal Reddy and other BRS leaders were present.
