Karimnagar police have registered a case against unidentified persons after a complaint alleged sheep were sacrificed in Hanumanthupet village of Peddapalli mandal.

Unknown persons booked for sacrificing sheep in Peddapalli

Karimnagar: A case has been registered against unknown persons for allegedly sacrificing sheep at Hanumanthupet village in Peddapalli mandal on Saturday.

Police said that a case was registered against unidentified persons for sacrificing sheep at the village based on a complaint received from A Goutham of Stray Animal Foundation of India, a Karimnagar-based voluntary organisation.


In the complaint, Goutham alleged that in two different incidents, sheep were sacrificed at the village and sought police action against the culprits. He disclosed that he came to know about the incident through Instagram posts. He opined that sacrificing animals amounts to cruelty and is punishable under the law.
