A Hyderabad police sub-inspector has been booked after a viral video showed his six-year-old granddaughter driving his car on a public road. The Narsingi police registered a case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Motor Vehicles Act, and further investigation is in progress.

Hyderabad: The Narsingi police have booked a case against a Sub-Inspector of Police working in Hyderabad for allegedly allowing his six-and-a-half-year-old granddaughter to drive his car on a public road.
The video of the child driving the car quickly went viral on social media.
According to the police, the incident took place on Saturday on the Gandhamguda–Bairagiguda Road under the Narsingi Police Station jurisdiction.
The officer, identified as Pujari Thirupathi, who is presently serving in Hyderabad City, allegedly permitted the child to drive his car.
The video of the child behind the wheel was widely circulated on social media, drawing sharp criticism and prompting the police to initiate legal action.
Based on the inquiry, Narsingi police registered a case under Section 125 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Sections 184 and 180 of the Motor Vehicles Act against Pujari Thirupathi for permitting a minor to drive a motor vehicle. Police said further investigation into the case is underway.
