BRS MLC Dasoju Sravan slams Revanth over insensitive remarks on farmers’ water demand

Hyderabad: BRS MLC Sravan Dasoju on Sunday strongly criticised Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy over his remarks on the ongoing political row over irrigation water, accusing him of displaying insensitivity towards farmers. He said that while farmers were struggling as their crops were withering due to inadequate irrigation, the Chief Minister had responded with remarks about sprinkling the blood of BRS leaders instead of addressing the farmers’ concerns.

He accused the Congress government of failing to utilise the available water from the Kaleshwaram project and alleged that Telangana’s farmers were being denied their rightful share of irrigation water.

Questioning the Chief Minister’s remarks, Sravan said no elected leader should use such irresponsible and insensitive language. He warned that ignoring farmers’ concerns and pursuing vindictive politics over irrigation would invite public backlash. He asserted that Telangana was formed to resolve its water issues and urged the government to prioritise the supply of irrigation water instead of engaging in political rhetoric.
