Hyderabad: A major fire broke out at a decoration materials warehouse located near the Musi River in Chaderghat on Friday.
The blaze spread rapidly due to the presence of highly combustible materials such as plastic and thermocol, sending thick plumes of black smoke into the sky and triggering panic among residents.
According to initial reports, the fire erupted suddenly inside the warehouse, prompting workers to flee the premises. As the flames intensified, they spread to nearby huts in the Musi riverbed area, reducing several makeshift dwellings to ashes. However, no injuries or casualties were reported.
The incident created panic among local residents, many of whom rushed out of their homes as dense smoke engulfed the surroundings.
On receiving information, fire engines were rushed to the spot. Firefighters launched an intensive operation to bring the blaze under control and prevent it from spreading to adjacent structures.
Police also reached the spot and assisted in the rescue operation.
The exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, and officials are expected to assess the extent of the property damage once the fire is completely extinguished.
