Cyber fraudster posing as ACB officer dupes Siddipet revenue inspector of Rs 96,000

A cyber fraudster posing as an ACB officer allegedly duped a revenue inspector in Siddipet district of Rs 96,000 by threatening raids over fake complaints. The incident comes days after the ACB trapped the Cheriyal tehsildar in a bribery case.

Siddipet: Taking recent ACB trap of Cheriyal Tehsildar as an opportunity, cyber frauds cheated a revenue inspector (RI) in the same mandal by threatening them in the guise of ACB officer.

RI Talari Ilaiah got a phone call on Thursday from a cyber fraudster, who introduced himself as ACB DSP. Threatening to carry out a raid on his office and residence, he demanded Rs one lakh for overlooking the complaints received against him.
The panicked revenue officer transferred Rs 96,000 to the cyber fraudster’s phone number without any delay. A few hours later, he found out it was the job a cyber fraud.


Later, he registered a complaint in Komuravelly police station. The probe was on. The incident happened just three days after Korra Dileep Nayak while he was accepting Rs 70,000 bribe from a farmer.
