Hyderabad: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has indicated a shift in the state’s monsoon activity, forecasting a period of limited rainfall over the coming week. However, rather than a completely dry spell, districts can expect light to moderate showers at isolated locations till July 15. Despite indications of reduced rainfall activity, the overall weather conditions will remain overcast and very windy.
The IMD, Hyderabad has also issued a special alert regarding windy conditions, which are expected to persist throughout the state until July 14.
According to the IMD’s bulletin on Thursday, a weather system that caused rains in the last few days, has moved away and is no longer expected to influence weather in the next few days in Telangana.
As a result of this change, IMD is indicating isolated and intermittent rainfall activity or thundershowers at isolated places throughout Telangana till July 14, with a slight rise at a few locations on July 15.
Strong surface winds reaching 40–50 kmph, however, will prevail at isolated locations in all districts of Telangana until mid-July. While the immediate outlook is for limited rain, residents in Hyderabad and elsewhere can expect continued overcast skies and windy conditions.
