Hyderabad: Endowments Minister Konda Surekha‘s rift with Station Ghanpur MLA Kadiyam Srihari continued, with the Minister taking her complaint to TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud over the issues she claimed to be facing because of the legislator. Mahesh Kumar Goud is learnt to have assured the Minister that he would examine the issue in detail. He also reportedly informed her that the matter would be discussed within the party and justice would be done.

The dispute between the two leaders stems from a meeting conducted by Kadiyam Srihari at the Endowments Office in Hyderabad. The MLA maintained that he had met the Endowments Commissioner to discuss issues related to five temples in his constituency. However, the Minister, citing an official press note issued by the MLA’s office, said Kadiyam Srihari had directed officials to submit the Warangal Master Plan, constitute an officers’ committee and take measures to protect temple lands, among other matters.

Addressing the media later, Konda Surekha said Kadiyam Srihari had been in politics for four decades and had also served as a Minister. She alleged that since he no longer held any ministerial position, he was resorting to such tactics. “Despite knowing that he committed mistakes, Srihari does not admit them. Instead, he counters me and questions my awareness,” she said.

The Minister said there would have been no controversy if Srihari had simply submitted a representation to the Endowments Commissioner. Instead, he conducted a meeting in the Endowments Office meeting hall, she alleged.

Srihari should resign if he claims to be with BRS

Referring to Kadiyam Srihari’s claim that he was still associated with the BRS, Konda Surekha challenged him to resign as MLA and seek a fresh mandate if he truly believed in political values.

“My husband resigned as an MLC before joining the YSRCP. Later, during the TRS regime, he again resigned as an MLC before joining the Congress. That is what standing by values means. If Srihari believes in values, he should resign and get elected again on a Congress ticket,” she said.

The Minister also accused Kadiyam Srihari of hypocrisy, pointing out that while he had won the Assembly election on a BRS ticket, his daughter had contested and become an MP on a Congress ticket.
