Hyderabad: After farmers complained about difficulties in booking urea through the Fertilizer Booking App and sought its withdrawal, the Telangana government has introduced a urea booking facility through MeeSeva centres across the State. The new service has been launched to simplify urea distribution. Farmers can now visit any MeeSeva centre to book urea by paying a user charge of Rs.10.
The Agriculture Department has extended the booking facility to all MeeSeva centres, enabling farmers who are unable to use the Fertilizer Booking App to complete the process with the assistance of MeeSeva operators. To book urea, farmers must provide their Pattadar Pass Book (PPB) number. The MeeSeva operator will retrieve the farmer’s details, record the cultivated area and crop details, and complete the booking after selecting the preferred fertiliser dealer and the required quantity.
Following OTP verification on the farmer’s registered mobile number, a Booking ID will be generated instantly. The Booking ID will remain valid for 48 hours from the date of booking. Farmers must collect the fertiliser from the selected dealer within the validity period. The government has advised farmers to ensure that their registered mobile number is linked to their Pattadar Pass Book to receive the OTP required for booking. For assistance, farmers can contact their nearest Agricultural Extension Officer (AEO), Mandal Agriculture Officer (MAO) or visit the nearest MeeSeva centre.
