TCA leader Guruva Reddy slams HCA over club duplication and electoral distortions

Hyderabad: Telangana Cricket Association general secretary D. Guruva Reddy expressed serious concern at the duplication of affiliated clubs of the Hyderabad Cricket Association.

In a media release on Monday, Mr Reddyalleged that the HCA had been successfully ignoring the aspiring players’ interests with its administrative flaws which even pushed the judicial directions and the BCCI directives to the backseat.

The TCA official pointed out that the Oxford Blues Cricket Club was shown under two separate registrations — one in Hyderabad and another in Ranga Reddy district — and alleged that such duplication had distorted the electoral process.

Mr. Reddy also referred to the case of Sri Chakra Cricket Club, claiming that despite the club having been suspended by the HCA Ombudsman in 2018, a representative of the club later went on to occupy the office of HCA president in 2023. He further alleged that the individual was subsequently named in a CID case, arrested and later suspended by the present HCA leadership.

He said that some of the key officials of the HCA Apex Council including Sardar Daljit Singh, T. Basavaraju and the interim CEO Imitaz Khan were operating from the same premises of Ameerpet CC.

The TCA leader alleged that those individuals who had earlier approached courts seeking investigations into the previous HCA administration had later accepted appointments in the new setup without approval of the General Body. He alleged that the Single Member Committee had failed to enforce accountability while allowing unelected administrative arrangements to continue.
