Villagers blocked road over disruption of water supply in Medak

Residents of Mirzpally village in Medak’s Chinna Shankarampet mandal staged a road blockade on Sunday, protesting the disruption of Mission Bhagiratha drinking water supply for four days. Villagers demanded immediate restoration, citing severe hardship and dependence on distant water sources

Medak: The villagers of Mirzpally in Chinna Shankarampet mandal staged a rasta-roko blocking the road on Sunday morning. Since the village has not been receiving the mission bhagiratha water for the last four days, the villagers gathered on the road carrying pots and blocked the road.

The villagers demanded the government to restore the water supply to the residences. Since they had no alternative source, the women said that they were forced to travel long distances to fetch water. Unless, they threatened to stage protest at mandal headquarters.
