Hyderabad: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) leader in Telangana Assembly, Akbaruddin Owaisi, has said that he would continue to build educational institutions and declared that if one institution was demolished, he would build 10.

The MLA from Chandrayangutta constituency on Sunday made this statement two days after the Telangana High Court granted state authorities one week to place all relevant records before regarding Barrister Fatima Owaisi Educational KG-PG Campus allegedly constructed within the Salkam Cheruvu lake area.

“If you demolish one institution, I will build 10,” said Akbaruddin Owaisi, adding his commitment to provide free education to poor will not be weakened by such actions.

He alleged that some people were using their authority to pressure him and target educational institutions linked to him.

Saying that he had worked with honesty and would not be deterred by such actions, he said.

“Even if you demolish the buildings, I will teach the children under the open sky but will not bow before you,” the AIMIM MLA said while addressing an event of his educational institutions.

Akbaruddin Owaisi said that he was working with a mission to provide free education, supporting orphans, empowering women, and offering free NEET and made it clear that he would not give up this mission under any pressure.

He added that the educational institutions established by him would continue to function even if he was not around.

The Telangana High Court on Friday granted state authorities one week to place all relevant records before it regarding the alleged illegal constructions within the Full Tank Level (FTL) and buffer zone of Salkam Cheruvu.

Expressing strong displeasure over their continued failure to comply with its earlier directions, single judge bench warned that appropriate orders would follow if there was any further non-compliance.

Meanwhile, Minister of State (MoS) for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, reacted to Akbaruddin Owaisi’s comments, alleging that he is challenging the system while the High Court is demanding accountability.

“Congress’ support has made Owaisi this bold. How can he question the High Court after allegedly violating the law? Court has now given the Congress government one final week to submit all records after expressing displeasure over repeated delays. Despite repeated opportunities, the required reports and statutory approvals had not been placed before it,” Bandi Sanjay said on social media platform X.

“Why is the Congress government silent on Fatima educational institutions while taking action against others? Why is it delaying its response instead of answering the High Court’s questions? Is there one law for Owaisi and another for everyone else?,” he asked.

“Constructing educational institutions on alleged encroached lake land is itself illegal. Authorities are issuing repeated notices to institutions in the FTL area at Gandipet. Why are institutions run under Owaisi’s leadership being left untouched?”

The MoS (Home) said that if the BJP comes to power in the state, it will demolish the Fatima institutions and ensure alternative arrangements for the students studying there.
