BRS cadres arrested while heading to Kannepalli pump house in Mancherial

Police arrested BRS cadres across Mancherial district on Sunday while they were heading to join K.T. Rama Rao’s tour of Kannepalli Pump House. Tension flared in Chennur when former MLA Diwakar Rao was stopped and taken into custody, prompting criticism from party workers who accused the government of insecurity. Preventive arrests were also reported in several other mandals.

BRS cadres arrested while heading to Kannepalli pump house in Mancherial

Mancherial: BRS cadres were arrested while they were heading to participate in BRS working president KT Rama Rao’s tour to Kannepalli pump house across the district on Sunday.

A mild tension prevailed when police and former Mancherial MLA Diwakar Rao clashed with each other in Chennur. Police tried to stop Rao from attending the event. Rao raised an objection and criticized the police for preventing him and his supporters from participating in the tour. Police forcibly arrested Rao and his followers, resulting in tension.


Similar preventive arrests were made in Thandur, Jannaram, Bellampalli, Nennal, Dandepalli and other parts of the district. The BRS cadres found fault with the police for taking them into custody. They said that the government was feeling insecure to allow them to participate in the event. They stated that Rao’s tour would expose conspiracies of the government.
