Intoxicated man kills son at Kallur in Khammam

An auto driver in Khammam district allegedly killed his 30-year-old son in a drunken rage after a quarrel at their home in Ambedkar Nagar, Kallur. Police said the accused attacked his son with a knife, causing fatal injuries, before fleeing the scene.

Intoxicated man kills son at Kallur in Khammam

Khammam: A man who was under the influence of alcohol allegedly killed his son at Ambedkar Nagar in Kallur town of Khammam district.

According to police, an auto driver, Kothapalli Seetharamulu took his son, Kothapalli Kiran Kumar (30) to a nearby belt shop on Friday night and the two consumed liquor. Later, when they came home, an argument took place between them over an issue.


In a fit of rage, Seetharamulu attacked his son indiscriminately with a knife. Kiran Kumar suffered a serious injury to the back of his head in the attack and collapsed on the spot due to excessive bleeding. Later the accused fled from the spot in his auto.

The family members rushed Kiran Kumar to the local PHC, where he died while undergoing treatment. Based on the complaint made on Saturday by the deceased man’s wife Vijaya Jyothi, Kallur police booked a case and launched a manhunt to nab the accused.
