Hyderabad: A highly decomposed body was found at an isolated spot on Pahadishareef Road on the city outskirts on Wednesday evening.

Based on the details of a vehicle found near the spot, the police suspect that the body could be that of Mohd Awaiz Khan (24), a resident of Bandlaguda, who had been missing from the Mirchowk area of the Old City since Saturday.

On Wednesday, locals complained of a foul smell emanating from the area and alerted the police. A police team rushed to the spot and searched the isolated area located close to the main road, where the body was found in a highly decomposed state.

The body was later shifted to the mortuary for postmortem examination. Police are examining footage from surveillance cameras installed in the vicinity as part of the investigation. They also suspect that the victim may have been lured to the spot and murdered by unidentified persons.

It is learnt that a group of transgenders was allegedly indulging in immoral activities at the place during the night.
