Adilabad: A 45-year-old farmer was killed on the spot after the motorcycle he was travelling on plunged into a stream when a speeding car hit it at Bangariguda village in Adilabad Rural mandal on Wednesday.
Adilabad Rural SI Vishnuwardhan said Ashthak Yadav from Pardi village suffered serious head injuries after falling off the bridge, resulting in his instantaneous death.
Eight passengers travelling in an auto-rickshaw also sustained injuries when the car hit the three-wheeler.
Yadav was heading to Adilabad from Pardi when the mishap occurred.
Bagya Sheela, wife of the victim, lodged a complaint with the police.
A hit-and-run case has been registered against Sampath Reddy, the driver of the car. Investigation is underway.
