Jagadish Reddy accuses Revanth Reddy of ignoring Nalgonda’s development, resorting to personal attacks

Hyderabad: Former Minister and Suryapet MLA G Jagadish Reddy hit back at Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy over his recent remarks in Nalgonda, accusing him of resorting to personal insults instead of addressing the developmental needs of the district. He said only those who lacked substance and failed to ensure any visible development, speak about another person’s physical appearance.

Speaking to mediapersons at Telangana Bhavan on Monday, Jagadish Reddy said Revanth Reddy dedicated large part of his speech in Nalgonda primarily to abuse and insult BRS president K Chandrashekhar Rao, working president KT Rama Rao, BRSLP deputy leader T Harish Rao, and himself. “In 30 months rule, Revanth Reddy had done nothing for erstwhile Nalgonda district. Hence, he relied largely on his political rhetoric and abusive remarks against the BRS leaders,” he said.

Stating that former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s visits to Nalgonda always brought development projects and funds, the former Minister challenged the Congress government to identify even one major initiative undertaken for the district since assuming office. He said even Congress legislators had stayed away from the Chief Minister’s public meeting and accused the government of spending public money on events without delivering results.

“A Congress MLA stayed away from attending the event, while the Congress activists were arrested fearing protests at the meeting. The Congress government should be ashamed,” he added.

The BRS leader pointed out that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and the BJP national president Nitin Nabin had targeted Chandrashekhar Rao at separate meetings, while avoiding criticism of each other. He asserted that this was only an indication of the growing strength of the BRS in Telangana. He also accused the State government of failing to ensure adequate irrigation despite water being available in the Nagarjuna Sagar reservoir. He demanded that the Assembly be convened for a discussion on public issues.

Former MLA Kancharla Ravindra Kumar criticised the Chief Minister for allegedly using objectionable language and focusing on personal attacks instead of development and welfare activities. He accused the Congress government of neglecting major irrigation projects, including the SLBC and Dindi schemes, and failing to complete works initiated during the previous BRS regime.

Former MLAs Bhupal Reddy and Gongidi Sunitha also criticised the Congress government, stating that it had failed to fulfil its promises to Nalgonda while repeatedly targeting BRS leaders through personal remarks.
