Kothagudem: An assistant executive engineer (AEE) in the Irrigation Department, L Srinivas, was caught red-handed by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) while accepting bribe from a farmer.
According to Khammam range ACB DSP, Y Ramesh, the accused officer demanded Rs 2 lakh to allow the farmer to transport soil from Donthikunta tank at Aswaraopet town to his agricultural field.
As the farmer approached the ACB, a trap was laid, and the AEE was apprehended while receiving the bribe at his office at Aswaraopet on Monday. He would be produced before the special judge for SPE and ACB cases in Warangal, the DSP added.
