HYDERABAD: The Prohibition and Excise officials on Monday seized 13 liquor bottles during a surprise inspection conducted on the AP Sampark Kranti Express at Kacheguda Railway Station.
During the inspection, officials found 13 bottles of DPL Defence liquor, which are meant for defence personnel and originated from Karnataka. As no person came forward to claim them, the bottles were seized. The officials suspect some persons were transporting the liquor bottles and, on noticing them, escaped, leaving behind the consignment.
The Excise Department registered a case against an unknown person and launched an investigation to identify the individual responsible for transporting the liquor illegally.
